Identity

The Y theory (La théorie du Y) is a series about bisexuality that tells the story of Anna (season 1 & 2) and then Gaspard (season 3). This is the first queer series in French-speaking Belgium produced by RTBF. It was created by Caroline Taillet and Martin Landmeters.

Identity
The graphic identity is based on a large Y cutting through the entire format and hiding an X in outline. This graphic trick refers to the attraction that a bisexual person can have for both XY chromosomes.
The yellow colour is chosen for this graphic identity as it distances itself from the clichés of pink and blue tones stereotypically associated to girls and boys.
In season 2, this Y shape is used to reveal the main characters in a set of prisms.
For the theatre version, a campaign was launched using different colours and photographic contrasts linking it with the awarded series but still clearly setting it apart.
