Ateliers Médicis — VOST

Ateliers Médicis is a national cultural centre in the Parisian region (France) which is firmly situated in the suburbs away from the famous city monuments. The centre has national goals and hosts artists of all disciplines and supports artistic creation in connection with the territories. The centre encourages and organises encounters between artists and local residents. We are proud to be associated graphic designers from 2020.

This yearly festival, ‘VOST’ (Version Originale Sous-Titrée / Original Version Subtitled) is about languages and hospitality. Shows, creations, exhibitions, readings and language courses are organised. For the communication, we've inserted different characters from different languages in the title but kept the legibility and phonetics close by. The fluid colour mix background relates to the porosity and influence of different languages and different individuals. Round shapes resemble talking mouths to animate the composition, as well as thin arrows which link to population movements across the globe.
